iMarriages to no longer service Pakistan in response to terror attacks
by iMarriages, 22nd February 2019Effective immediately, Pakistan based users are banned from using the iMarriages platform and all existing profiles will be deleted.
iMarriages views itself as a organisation that serves the community for the greater good. We are involved in several charity projects and we also provide a matrimony service that allows messaging between members at no cost. We offer our free services globally because we believe in peace and uniting humanity. Unfortunately, peace and humanity have been shattered.
On 14 February 2019, at least 40 Indians were murdered in a cowardly attack orchestrated by the Pakistan based Jaish-e-Mohammed terror group. That the Pakistan military and inteligence services have in the past supported Jaish-e-Mohammed cannot be disputed. Given that this group has bases across Pakistan, some in plain view, one would suspect that this group is tolerated if not still supported by authorities.
As an Indian organisation, it would be totally inappropriate for us to continue providing free services in Pakistan whilst that country is complicit in the murder of Indians on Indian soil. In response to these attacks and effective immediately, we are banning Pakistan based users from the iMarriages platform and thousands of existing profiles will be deleted. This ban will remain in place until Masood Azhar and other Jaish-e-Mohammed leaders are bought to justice.
We also call on our counterparts at Shaadi, Jeevansathi and Bharat Matrimony to put country before profits and follow suit.
