White Weddings
White wedding type originates from the white colour of the bride's wedding dress, as popularized by Queen Victoria 1. Following are the major rituals taking place during these weddings.
Pre-Wedding Rituals
The host sends invitations to the wedding guests, usually one to two months before the Wedding. This is followed by a Bridal shower. It occurs a day prior to the wedding it includes the offering of wedding gifts to the bride. Wedding gifts are most commonly sent to the bride's or host's home before the wedding day. These gifts are not intended to be opened but rather placed aside for later delivery to the newlyweds' home.
A colour scheme is selected by wedding planner to match everything from bridesmaids' dresses, flowers, invitations, and decorations, though there is no necessity in doing so. These traditions are meant to decorate everything in the colour similar to the brides dress so as to confuse the evil spirits from harming the bride.
At The Wedding
The white wedding ceremony may take place anywhere, but often a church (known as a religious wedding), courthouse (known as a military wedding), or outdoor venue (known as destination weddings). During the ceremony, it is customary to include bridesmaids ( usually the best or closest female friend of the bride is given this place of honor. If married, she is called as a “matron of honor”) and groomsmen (usually the best or closest male friend or a relative of the groom is given this place of honor) in the event.
The bride arrives at the Venue in the vehicle sent by the groom. The bride's father accompanies her on her walk down the aisle to give her daughter to the groom. Then they exchange wedding vows followed by an exchange of wedding rings. A ceremonial kiss traditionally concludes the ceremony. It is believed that this kiss allows the couples' souls to mingle together. Now the couple leaves the wedding hall. Uncooked rice is sometimes thrown at the newlyweds as they leave the ceremony as a symbol of fertility. Finally, at the threshold of venue, the newly married woman throws her bouquet to the unmarried women at the wedding. The one who catches the bouquet is supposedly the next to be married.
At The Wedding Reception
Drinks, snacks, and full-fledged meal, especially are served to the guests and wedding party mingle to celebrate the occasion. The best men and/or maids of honour will toast newlyweds with personal thoughts, stories, and well-wishes for the couple. The Wedding cakes are cut jointly by the couple as symbols of. The first pieces of the wedding cake are shared between the couple.

Jewish couples are married under the chupah (a decorated tent-like structure). This symbolizes that the bride and groom are coming together and creating a new home. This religious tradition comes from the Biblical wedding of Abraham and Sarah. In a Jewish wedding, both the bride and the groom are walked down the aisle by both of their parents, which is different from other religions. This is followed by ring ceremony. A Jewish wedding contract the ketubah is signed by the couple. The rabbi (priest of Jews) reads it under the chupah. The wedding is concluded with a reception party.

Then various pre-wedding rituals like Haldi (application of turmeric paste on the body of the couple), Mehndi (embellishment of artistic designs by Heena paste on hands and feet of the bride) and Sangeet (Musical celebration of the wedding). On the wedding day, the groom along with his procession reaches the venue. He is welcomed by the bride's party. This is followed by exchanging of garlands (Jaimala) between the couple which represents the acknowledgment of acceptance and respect. Then a sacred fire (Havan) is lit, and the couple takes seven round of the fire while taking the seven sacred wedding vows.
